Mario Cristobal and Co. are welcoming the No. 3 ranked 2027 class in the nation.
The Miami Hurricanes just landed one of the best recruits in the country.
Even better?
They’ll get him in the 2027 class, one year before he was expected to reach any college campus across the country.
A’mir Sears, the reigning top-ranked player in the 2028 recruiting class, reclassified to the 2027 class Tuesday. Sears comes in as the 11th-best player in national composite rankings after moving up a class.
On3 ranks Sears as the 24th-best player in the country and the fourth-best cornerback. He’s the composite-ranked 11th-best player in the nation, as well.
Sears would be joining a recruiting class with the current top-ranked cornerback in the nation, Donte Wright, the eighth-best player overall. They also have five-star wide receiver Nick Lennear, five-star edge Jaiden Bryant and five-star quarterback Israel Abrams, among others. That slots them fourth overall in the nation, according to composite rankings.
The duo of Sears and Wright would be one of the scariest recruiting combinations in the country. Notre Dame has a four-star combo of Ace Alston and Xavier Hasan, but that’s the only team touching Miami’s potential duo.
Miami’s current cornerback room is led by OJ Frederique Jr. and Ethan O’Connor, with a plethora of formerly high-rated recruits behind them. Sears, among others, would only solidify that group as one of the best in the country.
