In Week 1 of college football, we had some hits and some misses. I moved to 1-1 on my bets of the week and watched my Heisman favorite, Darian Mensah, cruise to the over. We move to 3-3 on the year, and anyone who’s been sports betting for a while knows that coming out even isn’t always a bad thing.

For the Bet of the Week, I’m looking at a game that I feel is being a bit overlooked as a potential most exciting game of the week. This weekend, UCF travels to Pitt in a game with some exciting offenses. Pitt’s QB, Mason Heintschel, last week came out and had arguably the best game of the week. He threw for almost 500 yards and seven TDs in a blowout win. UCF comes off a 73-point performance in Week 1 behind a familiar face to many in Alonza Barnett from JMU’s incredibly fun playoff run last season. Barnett hosts another elite offense but in the exact opposite way from Pitt. They had 360 rushing yards this past week with a multitude of explosive rushing plays and will look to enforce their will on this suspect Pitt defense. With two explosive offenses and two defenses with a lot of question marks, I’m taking the over of this game at 56.5 points, where I could see a total surpassing even 70.

I love MS State at Minnesota as a sneaky fun game this week. In Week 1, both these teams showed that they aren’t the teams from last year. This game has a tiny spread at only +1.5 for MS State. I will be taking the MS State moneyline for this game for one simple reason: Kamario Taylor. He had an elite game last week and even posted a perfect 10 BiteScore (which isn’t easy to do).

Give me the Bulldogs in a fun one this weekend.

For the second week in a row, I’ll be betting on the Memphis Tigers, and this week it’ll be with Boise State. This game has an over of 55.5, and I love that line. These teams have both shown to be very capable and high-level offenses, while also playing higher-level competition than most. I’ll take the over at 55.5.
