Mid-American Conference Commissioner Dr. Jon Steinbrecher said the league has submitted formal appeals to the NCAA FBS Oversight Committee and the College Football Playoff over the end of the Western Michigan-Michigan game. Steinbrecher said replay protocol was not properly followed when one second was put back on the clock and an additional play was awarded. He said the program-feed clock should have been used and, had protocol been followed, Western Michigan would have won 12-7. The MAC is asking that Western Michigan be recognized for rankings, evaluations and selection deliberations.
