Trinidad Chambliss made a statement in Ole Miss’ win over LSU.
Mensah just continues to impress week in and week out. Putting up 230 yards and three touchdowns on 30-34 passing. He showed something that I really wanted to see, that being his patience. Everyone at this point knows that he can make the flashy explosive plays, but could he methodically drive down the field for some longer drives to really help out his defense. His defense against Wake Forest for the first time all year showed some cracks and Mensah needed to help them out. Loved seeing this approach from Mensah showing that while an incredibly explosive player, can also be a smart and calculating player as well. I don’t see any cracks in his game right now and I don’t expect to see them anytime soon.
What a rise to fame from Kamario Taylor in these last few weeks. Lots of people doubted how good he really was coming into this week, his first road SEC game at South Carolina. He looked a bit rough in that first quarter, but he bounced back in a major way. His final line was 251 and four passing touchdowns. Taylor blows away expectations at every turn and I can’t wait to see what he does next. Taylor has a big next 2 games, he gets 19th ranked Missouri and eighth ranked Alabama at home. Performing well and winning these games, would not only likely push him into being the Heisman favorite, but also turns his team into a title favorite
Our first new addition to the rankings this week is the hottest commodity in all of college football right now. Trinidad Chambliss is just an unbelievable player on one of the best teams in all of college football. Chambliss led the Rebels to one of the biggest wins in recent memory and biggest wins in program history. Chambliss threw for 363 yards and two passing touchdowns and he had a clutch rushing touchdown. Chambliss has all the makings of a Heisman front runner, and we’ll see how far he can go.
4. Jadan Baugh
I love seeing an elite running back in college football. When elite running backs are playing the sport is just better as a whole. Jaden Baugh embodies everything that a running back should be and more. Baugh is dragging this Florida team to a really nice start to the year going on the road at Auburn, and winning by 5 points, but the game was really never that close. Florida can go as far as Baugh takes them, and I think he can take them pretty far. Baugh ran 162 yards and two touchdowns in this victory, and he’s averaging 155 rushing yards a game with 8 touchdowns through 3 games. If that doesn’t sound like a Heisman winning running back, I don’t know what does.
