Everyone was watching the Texas-Tennessee game and saw Colin Simmons dominate the Tennessee offensive line with his 5.5-sack performance. As rare as five-sack games are, seeing two in one week, just a few hours apart, is crazy. Bowling Green defensive end Myles Bradley put up five sacks against USF, almost single-handedly keeping his team in the game. Bradley was dominating the offensive line, with one of those sacks being a strip sack that led to points for his offense. A five-sack game is so rare to see, and I hate to see his performance get overshadowed by Colin Simmons.

White had excellent performances in back-to-back weeks. The North Texas running back ran all over his opponents in two straight weeks. In Week 4, he had 150 total yards and four touchdowns on only 14 total touches. This lifted the Mean Green to a dominant win that ended 63-14. Following this performance, White earned more touches in a larger matchup against the Golden Hurricane of Tulsa. He followed up his Week 4 performance with an even bigger game in Week 5, carrying the ball 32 times for a total of 220 yards and reaching pay dirt once. He powered this North Texas offense to a much-needed victory against Tulsa in a very competitive American conference.

Since Justin Fuente took over Memphis in 2012, Memphis has had some of the most consistently elite quarterback play in the country, whether it be Paxton Lynch or all the way to Seth Henigan. Marcus Stokes is next in line for this Memphis offense, and he has lived up to the role. Stokes has led this Memphis offense to some elite weeks this season, but this was especially true in Week 5 against Charlotte. In a game that kicked off at 10 a.m. Central time, an hour before every other game, Stokes was slinging the ball all around the field, hitting 13 different receivers en route to a 318-yard passing day with five touchdowns. This all feels even more impressive when you realize he did all of this in the first half of a cold, rainy day on the road. Stokes has all the physical attributes and is putting them all together to push this Memphis team to the top of the American.
