The most important position in all of football is the quarterback position. 

With every NFL Draft, the position receives more and more attention as teams and fans wonder who could be the next Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, or Lamar Jackson. 

Here’s a look at the five best QB prospects as of right now for the 2027 NFL Draft.

No. 1: CJ Carr

Notre Dame’s star leads the way among the 2027 quarterbacks. Carr did a great job for the Irish last season with a 168.1 passer rating and 24 touchdowns to only six interceptions with a 66.6% completion percentage. Carr right now feels like a guy who might not have as high of a ceiling as other prospects, but he might have the highest floor. 

Right now, Carr feels like a safe pick, similar to a Fernando Mendoza. With that being a trend in young NFL quarterbacks, that’s why he slots into our top spot. 

No. 2: Trinidad Chambliss

Chambliss, the Division 2 transfer out of Ferris State, was one of the biggest surprise stories in all of college football last season, helping lead Ole Miss to the College Football Playoff semi-finals before a close loss to Miami knocked them out. 

Chambliss is now one of the top QB’s in all of college football and, with new head coach Pete Golding, will look to improve his draft stock by going out and continuing to build off an impressive 2025 season.

No. 3: Dante Moore

Moore comes in at third on the board. Moore was originally supposed to go in the 2026 NFL Draft, but with the Jets likely to take him with the second overall pick, Moore made the decision to stay in college and develop a little bit more before going pro. 

This might have cost Moore, as right now he has struggled with Oregon’s narrow victory against Boise State before their shocking loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Moore still has a ton of raw ability to throw the ball and should still be intriguing to some teams, but he has to 

No. 4: Julian Sayin

Julian Sayin comes fourth on the board. Sayin is the only quarterback on this list who, in the previous season, was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. Now Sayin looks to not only be a finalist, but a winner of the Heisman trophy for the 2026 season.

At the same time, he’ll look to take advantage of a talented supporting cast and take his game to the next level. He’s still not perfect, as we saw against Texas in Week 2, but he has the tools to be a consistent quarterback in the NFL. 

No. 5: Arch Manning

I’ll be the first to say it: Manning is overhyped and a lot of it isn’t Manning’s fault. 

It’s just the expectation that comes with the Manning name that has fans thinking he is the clear best signal-caller of this class. I haven’t seen enough from Manning yet to warrant him any higher on this list. I think Manning has a ton of potential and can very easily move up on this list; however, right now, I can’t put Manning any higher than fifth.

So that’ll do for the top five quarterback prospects for the 2027 NFL Draft. Who knows what will happen and who could potentially move their way up the boards. Will we see another Joe Burrow, whose magical 2019 season shot him up from a late-round pick to first overall, or will we see a huge fall from one of these guys?
