College Football is right around the corner and with it already come talks from fans over who their favorite NFL team should be looking at for the upcoming NFL Draft. While there is still a lot of ball left to be played, we can still gather an idea for which prospects are going to be the most enticing for NFL teams and where they line up in the rankings
We are listing out our 10 best NFL Draft prospects entering the 2026 season before Week 1 gets underway. Here are players 10 through 6 on that list.
No. 10 Notre Dame QB CJ Carr
Starting off the Top 10 is, arguably, the second-best quarterback in the class in CJ Carr. Carr enters his second year as the starting quarterback of the Fighting Irish after an impressive 2025 season where he led them to 10 straight wins in their final 10 games of the season.
Carr put up nice numbers with a 168.1 passer rating and 24 touchdowns to only 6 interceptions with a 66.6% completion percentage. Carr should head into the draft as one of the top quarterback prospects and could be a potential Top 5 pick.
The former National Champion’s best remaining prospect is wide receiver Charlie Becker. Indiana’s loss of Omar Cooper and Elijah Sarratt leaves the door wide open for a breakout year for Becker.
Becker had an impressive 20 yards per reception last season and was a huge help down the stretch with multiple touchdowns in the playoffs and being a contributing factor for the Hoosiers.
No. 8 Ole Miss DT Will Echoles
Echoles is a great run defender who helps create negative plays often. Echoles, the 6-foot-3, 315-pound defensive tackle for Ole Miss, led all Power 4 defensive tackles in quarterback pressures and is great at shedding blocks quickly and making plays. Echoles comes into his junior year looking to make even more of an impact for the Rebels in their quest for a National Championship.
No. 7 Texas OT Trevor Goosby
Some would argue Goosby is the top offensive lineman of the class. Goosby comes in at a massive 6-foot-7, 325 pounds, with an 82-inch wingspan, providing all the size needed out of an NFL tackle. Goosby allows very few pressures on the quarterback and is able to easily handle EDGE rushers around him. Goosby earned First Team All-SEC Honors last year, and will look to repeat those honors this season.
Goosby tested the NFL Draft waters and almost left the Longhorns looking for two new tackles. His return strengthens Texas’ postseason chances, along with his draft hopes.
No. 6 Texas EDGE Colin Simmons
Colin Simmons is an elite pass rusher who can provide a lot of defensive help to NFL teams. The 6-foot-3, 243-pound defensive end has produced at a high level since he stepped foot on campus for the Texas Longhorns.
He logged nine sacks in his first year, backing that up with 12 sacks last season, leading the entire SEC. Simmons has a chance to prove himself as the top EDGE of the class if he can provide the Longhorns with another elite season.
